District Cub Camp 2019 - Final Details
02/07/2019 By Paul Marsh

Hi Everybody,

Well time has flown by and it's nearly camp!!!

District Cub camp will be held at (On the A37) Orchard Park Farm, Hornblotton, Somerset BA4 6SF on Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July 2019.

You can find a full kit list HERE; can you please ensure your cub has all items mentioned. A named drink bottle, sun cream and a wide brimmed sun hat, are very important as a lot of the activities are in an open field with not much shade.

Your cub does need to wear uniform for the opening ceremony,

The theme of camp is Prehistoric (yaba daba doo) and there will be a fancy-dress competition, so if your cub can bring along a costume that would be brilliant.

Cubs will be sleeping in groups of 4-5 in a tent. Each tent has one of our older more experienced cubs in to help the first-time campers settle in and support them throughout the weekend. Also, all 4 cub leaders will be there to assure your cub has a fantastic weekend. If you or your cub has any concerns please feel free to come and talk to us Friday or send an email.

Cubs can arrive on site from 5.30pm. Please assure they have had dinner as they will only be having a snack Friday evening at camp.

Hopefully you can appreciate by Sunday we leaders are exhausted and need all the help we can get to put tents down etc.... Parents are allowed on site from 1.30pm on the Sunday to help us pack up camp. Closing Ceremony is at 3pm and cubs can go home after this but no cub will be allowed to leave until camp is down so the more help the better. We will also need help when back in Frome to unload the vans.

I have attached a copy of two maps, one shows directions to the car parking once you exit A37 and the second is to show you where we are in the camping field.

Please get in touch if you have any questions,
