Dear Parents,

Please note that following a very enjoyable time out at Tedbury, with the dark nights rapidly drawing in we will be returning to Selwood School on Thursday 8th October.

In order to prevent crossover of parents/young people and to limit the number of people in potentially close contact on the premises at any one time, we have made amendments to the timings for Cubs and Scouts and also the way they will enter and leave the building. The timings for each section will therefore, from the 8th October, be as follows:

  • Beavers - 5.30pm - 6.30pm
  • Cub's  - 6.30pm - 7.55pm
  • Scouts  - 8pm - 9.30pm

When dropping off Beaversplease enter via the main entrance doors where the Beavers will be met by the Beaver leaders. Whilst the parents of new Beavers may wish to take them into the hall to introduce themselves (whilst maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask), would all others parents please remain outside, weather permitting, to avoid congregating in the reception area. When picking up, the Beavers will exit via the emergency exit door at the top of the stage, so go up to the top of the car park, turn right and you will see it opposite the new football pitch. Please remain in your car until just before 6.30pm to avoid groups congregating around the exit door.

Likewise for Cub's, please enter via the main entrance doors where the Cubs will be met by the Cub leaders. Whilst the parents of new Cub's may wish to take them into the hall to introduce themselves (whilst maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask), would all others parents please remain outside. At the end of their meeting the Cubs will exit via the emergency exit door at the top of the stage, so go up to the top of the car park, turn right and you will see it opposite the new football pitch. Please remain in your car until just before 7.55pm, again to avoid groups congregating around the exit door.

For Scoutsplease enter and exit via the main entrance doors as there will be no section coming in after them at the end of the evening. Whilst the parents of new Scout's may wish to take them into the hall to introduce themselves (whilst maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask). Please remain in your car until just before 9.30pm, to avoid potential groups congregating around the entrance. We would ask that weather permitting you wait outside the main entrance doors, but if you do have to enter the reception, you will need to wear a mask and use the hand sanitizer provided. Please note all Scouts will need to wear a masks inside.

Once in their respective section meetings, your child will be briefed on the use of the toilets and other measures they will need to observe. No doubt they will be used to this from school, but we will need to go over these simple rules as they relate to our meetings.

Could you please advise your child that upon entering the building, they will need to use the hand sanitizer provided at the entrances.

To minimise the need for face to face contact with leaders at Selwood, if you have any queries relating to the restart, please contact them direct by e-mail at:
