Dear Parents,

Good news! We have now had our Risk Assessments (or to put it correctly Risk Mitigation Document READ HERE) officially approved by District and we are once again free to meet up again. All Beavers, Cub's and Scout meetings will therefore recommence this coming Thursday 10th September at Tedbury Camp Site (see attached map for directions).

Timings for meetings will be as follows:

  • Beavers       -           5.30pm - 6.30pm
  • Cub's           -           6.30pm - 8pm
  • Scouts         -           7pm - 8.30pm

When dropping off Beavers, please travel down the drive and park at the main arena where you will be met by the Beaver leaders. Whilst the parents of new Beavers may wish to take them to introduce themselves (whilst maintaining social distancing), would all others please remain in your cars. Pick up for Beavers will also be from the main arena.

For Cub's, please drop off at the entrance to the Cub Field (just before the main arena) were a Cub Leader will be stationed to guide your Cub to their group for the evening. Once dropped off, please go down to the main arena to turn around and leave the site. Picking up of Cub's will be from the main arena. If you are a few minutes early, please remain in your car until your cub is brought to the arena by the Cub leaders.

For Scouts, please drop off and pick up at the main arena, again remaining in your car when picking up until your Scout is ready to leave.

Once in their respective section meetings, your child will be briefed on the use of the toilets and other measures they will need to observe. No doubt they will be used to this from school, but we will need to go over these simple rules as they relate to our meetings.

As we will be outdoors at the campsite please ensure your child dresses appropriately, with sturdy footwear or wellingtons and a warm waterproof coat. Full uniform is not required, but please wear neckers.

Scouts are advised to bring a torch as it will be dark by 8.30pm

To minimise the need for face to face contact with leaders at Tedbury, if you have any queries relating to the restart, please contact them direct by e-mail prior to Thursday at:

Beavers: Emma Blake - emmabeavers5th@gmail.com

Cub's: Richard Webley - richardwebley@blueyonder.co.uk

Scouts: Ray Marsh - ray.jmarsh@btinternet.com

If you do though wish to speak to somebody face to face about any concerns you may have about your child's safety, our Group Scout Leader Mike Plaskitt will be available at the main arena car park at the start of every section meeting.

We look forward to seeing all once again and it will be great to be getting back to Scouting. We will continue to update you as and when there are any changes and particularly when we plan to move back indoors at Selwood School,

Regards,

David.
